I bought a new camera since mine broke a couple of months ago.
Following the suggestions of Matteo and Davide, and having checked with Alex a lot of reviews on the Web, we (me and Alex) finally decided for a Panasonic Lumix TZ3 that seems to have a lot of good features for a very reasonable price: an impressive 10x zoom, a big LCD screen, Leica lens, 7.2 Mpix and a lot of other stuff that I don’t actually know how to use…
I wanted to buy the camera at one of the Fry’s stores, but when I went there only returned ones were avalaible. I discovered that you can bring back everything you bought in the next 15 days (even without any reason), then Fry’s checks the product, certifies it is ok and puts it on the market again with a small discount…but I didn’t want to risk (maybe the camera was repared…) so I didn’t buy it. But this turned out to be a good deal at the end! I came back home, booked the camera and the memory card on the Fry’s website selecting the “pick-up at store” option (no shipping expenses) and went the day after to collect the camera. Just by booking on the website I saved $40! And considering that electronic stuff in the US costs less than in Europe and the US/EU change is so advantageous for us I actually saved a lot of money.
I should start taking some pictures! And I have a lavish 8Gb memory (it was sooo cheap!) so I can take many!
