Back home
I’m back from the United States and I have many thoughts I would like to write, about the US, Italy, the incredible
holiday around the West Coast, but I do not have much time, especially now that I’m writing the PhD dissertation (I have to submit the version for the reviewers on the 15th September… so close!).
I’m working mainly from home, it doesn’t seem real! After 8 months in UK and 3 months in US, I’m really happy to spend some time at home with my family. The wheater is good, sunny but not hot. I’m not really going out too much, but I’m just happy to write in front of the window opened on the garden
.
I’m doing cut and paste work till now, starting from the papers I wrote and trying to make the notation uniform and to build a common background.
I can follow a little the US politics from Italy either, since the news on tv are often about the incoming presidential election. But I noticed that they always discuss about Obama and Hillary and never mention McCain. I don’t really understand why, since it seems that the two candidates are very close in the vote projection.
Maybe it catches more the attention talking about a black candidate (and a defeated woman candidate) than about a white, old one… I wonder if the news are the same in the rest of Europe.
